English Crime and Execution Broadsides

This day, January 16, 1813, was executed on the drop behind the Castle of York, fourteen malefactors ; for various burglaries, felonies, and tumultously assembling in the nighttime, to destroy shearing frames, machinery; to collect fire-arms, and to demolish mills, &c. particularly that of Mr. William Cartwright, at Rawfolds, in Liversedge, near Birstal
